Unlike most of those leaving contributions here, I became acquainted with Terry through his partner, Dan, at social functions. Terry was always quiet and introverted -- arriving and leaving early -- and I cannot say I knew much about him or what quite clearly was a significant body of work.
It was with sadness that I learned of his death. It is with somewhat greater sadness that I learn of the life he led of which I and, I believe, my peers were largely ignorant. Had I known, I might have "engaged" him a bit more.
If anything positive comes of his death, I hope that it is that we all can make a bit more time for the Terrys in this world.
