This is a terrible tragedy. I rode back from the Green Party AGM with him, handing me payment for the one beer he drank at the party.
Although most contact I had with him was over LETS and Y2K, he was also a neighbour, working in the office building over the back fence from our house. This also brought him into my effort to form a North Glebe Business Group, which included a visit from Jim Watson, not long before he was elected Mayor. I had to leave early that morning, but heard afterwards that he took Jim to task over some stand of his, putting off other participants who didn't know his of activism. I talked to Terry, who agreed to phone Jim and say he was sorry.
Terry was indeed a special flame of hope and curiosity, who perhaps burned a bit too fast. I always found him agreeable and challenging, especially interested in my criticisms of LETS.
I will truly miss him.
